I was chatting with a group of friends recently about our favourite foods and the subject inevitably turned towards the question of which meal we would eat for the rest of our lives, if we had to choose only one. From the title of this post you can probably guess which was the firm favourite amongst us – the traditional roast dinner.
Doesn’t everyone just love a roast dinner on a Sunday? I know I do! This got me to thinking about just how we as a nation grew to love the roast dinner with all the fixings so much so I started doing a little research. Some of the things I discovered were so fascinating that I decided to present them all in an easy-to-digest infographic (below). For example, did you know that carrots were originally purple? Me neither!
